About EJS files
An .EJS file is an Embedded JavaScript template used primarily by Node.js applications and the Express.js framework to generate dynamic web pages. These files combine standard HTML with server-side JavaScript logic wrapped in special tags (e.g., <% %>), allowing developers to inject data variables and create loops or conditions before the page is sent to the client.
Because .EJS files rely on a server-side runtime environment to process the embedded code, they cannot be opened or rendered correctly by standard web browsers like Chrome or Edge directly from your desktop. Trying to open one usually displays the raw source code rather than the visual design. To preview the layout, debug the visual output, or share the design with clients who lack a development environment, users typically need to render (convert) the .EJS file into a static HTML file. For documentation or archiving, converting the rendered output to PDF is highly effective. Developers migrating projects may also need to convert EJS syntax to other template engines like PUG or HBS (Handlebars).
Convert.Guru analyzes your EJS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted HTML, IIX, TXT, CARD, PUG, ITP, PDF, JS and JSX files.
The EJS Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our EJS converter.
