An .EJS file is typically an Embedded JavaScript Template. These files are extensively used in the Node.js ecosystem, particularly alongside the Express.js framework, to generate dynamic web pages. They contain standard HTML markup interspersed with JavaScript code, allowing developers to inject variables, loops, and logic directly into the presentation layer.
The main disadvantage of the .EJS format is that it is not natively supported by web browsers. Without the accompanying backend server and data, the file is just raw source code.
