Convert EDQ to another file type
To convert EDQ query definitions to another format, you need Hubble or other Data software.
Convert a file to EDQ
To convert other file formats to the "XML Query Definition" file type, you need software like Hubble or a similar tool.
About EDQ files
An .EDQ file primarily functions as a query definition file for Hubble, a financial performance management software developed by insightsoftware. It contains structured XML data that tells the software how to retrieve specific financial metrics, budgets, and reports from an enterprise resource planning (ERP) database. A rare secondary use for the .EDQ extension is an Ensoniq SQ1/SQ2/KS32 Disk Image, which stores vintage synthesizer instrument patches and sequences.
The main disadvantage of an .EDQ file is its strict software dependency. Without an active Hubble license and a live connection to the correct ERP database, the query results cannot be generated. While the file itself is built on standard XML code, it does not contain the actual financial data - only the instructions required to fetch it. This makes sharing the file useless for a colleague who just expects to see the final report numbers. Standard document converters fail because they try to process it as a completed document rather than extracting the underlying code.
The best conversion targets for an .EDQ file are XML or TXT. Converting to these text-based formats allows developers or data analysts to read the query logic, table joins, and filters in a standard text editor. You cannot convert an .EDQ directly to a PDF or CSV spreadsheet containing financial data without actually running the query inside Hubble first.
This file format is difficult to open or convert into meaningful reports because it is deeply tied to proprietary database schemas. Often, only the original software can properly read, execute, or export the actual data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded text format, viewing or converting the raw logic is still possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your EDQ file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted SQUASHFS-PRO_USING_EDQ, EDV, EDK and EUI files.

To convert VFD, DMG, OVA, IMA, VBOX, ADF, PVS, VHD, OVF, ISO, DSK or IMG files to EDQ, try Hubble or another comparable tool in the "Database Query Definition" category.
The EDQ Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our EDQ converter.
