The .EBU file extension represents two completely different, highly proprietary formats. Primarily, it acts as a database backup archive generated by Exact Globe ERP software, running on a Microsoft SQL Server backend. Secondarily, it functions as a compiled binary firmware update for digital satellite receivers utilizing ALi Corporation chipsets. Both variations are closed ecosystems. Exact Globe backups trap your company's critical financial and inventory data in massive, monolithic files that cannot be easily queried, forcing reliance on expensive ERP licenses just to view historical records. Satellite firmware files are unreadable binary instructions that risk permanently bricking your hardware if edited incorrectly. Standard online converters fail completely on these files because they lack the specific database schemas or decompilers required. For ERP data, the ideal conversion targets are standard BAK or SQL dumps. For firmware, raw BIN is the industry standard.
