To convert other file formats to the "Recovery Scan State" file type, you need software like EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard or a similar tool.
About DPN files
Most commonly, a .DPN file is a saved Scan Session created by EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard. Instead of containing your actual photos or documents, this file acts as a proprietary map - an index pointing to where lost data resides on your drive.
The Problem: Users often mistakenly believe the .DPN file is a backup archive containing their recovered data. They copy this file to a USB drive, wipe the original disk, and then discover the .DPN is useless because the underlying data it points to is gone. Because it is a strictly proprietary database format, you cannot open it with WinRAR or view it in a text editor. Additionally, version incompatibility is common; a session saved in version 14.0 may not load in version 15.0.
The Solution: To "convert" this file, you must load it back into the EaseUS software and complete the recovery process. From there, you can export your actual data to usable formats like DOCX, JPG, or MP4.
In automotive contexts, a .DPN file may be a diagnostic display log generated by TEXA IDC5 software. These files contain vehicle telemetry and error codes. For archiving or sharing with clients, these should be exported directly from the diagnostic suite to PDF.
Convert.Guru analyzes your DPN file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert DPN file to TMP, TEMP, CACHE, LOG, BAK, OLD, NEW, PART, DOWNLOAD, CRDOWNLOAD, LOCK or PID, you can use EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard or similar software from the "Data Recovery Session Index" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DEVICE, CACHE, SOCK, SYMLINK, PID, MOUNT, FIFO, LOG, PIPE, TMP, JUNCTION or TEMP files to DPN, try EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard or another comparable tool in the "Data Recovery Session Index" category.
The DPN Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our DPN converter.
