The .DMMX file format is a proprietary mind map diagram used to store brainstorming sessions, project structures, and node-based visual charts. It is heavily associated with Edraw MindMaster and MindManager, while also functioning as an iMindQ XML Map Bundle developed by Seavus.
Users frequently need to convert .DMMX files because the format is locked behind commercial, subscription-based software. You cannot open these files natively on standard operating systems or web browsers. Sharing a .DMMX file with a client or colleague usually results in an "unsupported file" error unless they also own a paid license for the specific mapping tool.
For viewing and sharing, the best conversion targets are PDF or standard image formats like PNG and JPG. Converting to these formats permanently flattens the diagram, meaning you lose the ability to collapse or expand mind map nodes.
