Extract text from DIALux projects (DLX)

To convert other file formats to the "Lighting Design Project File" file type, you need software like DIALux or a similar tool.
The .dlx file is primarily a lighting design project created by DIALux. Lighting engineers and architects use this software to plan, calculate, and visualize indoor and outdoor lighting. A secondary use for the .dlx extension is a user interface dialog definition (formatted as XML) in Siemens NX, or a compiled Windows executable plugin for Autodesk 3ds Max.
Sharing a .dlx file presents significant disadvantages. It is a proprietary, heavy project file based on the Microsoft Compound format. Clients cannot open it without downloading and installing the full DIALux desktop software. It lacks native support in web browsers, mobile devices, and standard CAD viewers, making collaboration frustrating if the recipient is not a lighting professional.
To solve this, users must convert or export the data. The best target formats are PDF for calculation reports and presentation renders, or DWG and DXF for integrating the lighting plan back into architectural CAD software. You will lose the ability to edit the lighting calculations once exported.
