About DK files
A .dk file is a proprietary label design template generated by mobile thermal printing applications, most notably Print Master (11% share) and Marklife (8% share). These files serve as the internal "save" format for portable Bluetooth printers like those from Phomemo and Niimbot. Internally, a .dk file is often a structured text file (using JSON or UTF-8 encoding) that defines the label's dimensions, text positioning, barcode data, and sticker assets.
The catch for users is that .dk files are strictly locked to their parent mobile apps. You cannot simply double-click a .dk file on a Windows or macOS desktop to open it in Microsoft Word or Adobe Illustrator. They are designed exclusively for the mobile app's rendering engine to communicate with the specific thermal printer hardware. Users typically encounter these files when trying to back up their label designs or share a template with a colleague who uses a different device. To make the file usable outside the mobile ecosystem - for archiving, emailing, or printing on a standard desktop printer - the best workflow is converting the .dk file to a universal format like PDF or a raster image like JPG or PNG.
Convert.Guru analyzes your DK file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The DK Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our DK converter.
