A .dil file is technically a Dynamic Import Library, functioning almost identically to a standard Windows .DLL (Dynamic Link Library). It is primarily used by CorelDRAW and Corel Photo-Paint as a specialized plugin to handle specific image file import filters. For example, when you drag a rare image format into CorelDRAW, a specific .dil file runs in the background to interpret that data.
