About DGC files
The .DGC extension is primarily associated with DigiCel FlipBook, a 2D animation software used by classic animators to create pencil tests and digital cartoons. These files are project files, not playable video files. They contain the scene data, timing (x-sheets), layers, and raw drawings required to edit the animation.
Because a .DGC file is proprietary to DigiCel, it cannot be opened by standard media players like VLC or Windows Media Player, nor can it be uploaded directly to YouTube. Users often deal with issues when trying to share their work, realizing too late that the recipient cannot view the project file without the paid software. To make the animation accessible, the project must be rendered or converted into a standard container like MP4, MOV, or AVI.
Note: A smaller subset of .DGC files may be encrypted wallet backups generated by Dogecoin Core. These files contain private keys for cryptocurrency and should never be uploaded to public converters or shared. Older files might also be legacy game data from Kalisto Entertainment titles.
Convert.Guru analyzes your DGC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The DGC Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our DGC converter.
