A .i00 file primarily functions as either a technical illustration graphic created by PTC IsoDraw or a split disc image segment generated by DVD ripping software like DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink.
Both forms of .i00 files present significant usability challenges. The PTC IsoDraw version is a highly specialized format requiring expensive proprietary software to open or edit. Split disc images are fragmentary files created to bypass the legacy 4GB file size limit of FAT32 file systems. An isolated .i00 split file is completely useless on its own because it only contains a fraction of the original ISO byte stream.
To make these files usable, PTC IsoDraw graphics should be converted to standard vector or raster formats like SVG, PNG, or TIFF. Split disc images must be merged into a unified ISO archive, which can then be extracted or converted to standard video formats like MP4 or MKV.
