Extract text from Delphi desktop settings (DESK)

A .desk file is a specialized workspace configuration file used primarily by Embarcadero Delphi (formerly Borland) and certain legacy Autodesk visual effects workstations. It stores the exact arrangement of your desktop environment for a specific software project. This includes window coordinates, docked toolbars, active code tabs, and debugger layouts.
The primary disadvantage of the .desk format is its strict dependency on the main project files. A .desk file contains absolutely no source code, media, or graphical data. It is highly proprietary to the specific IDE version that created it. If you send this file to a colleague, it will often overwrite their preferred IDE layout with yours, causing frustration due to mismatched screen resolutions or absolute file paths.
Because it is strictly a settings file, standard online converters fail when attempting to process it. You cannot convert a window layout into a JPG or MP4. However, because the file is typically structured as plain text (similar to an INI file), the most practical target formats for reading the data are TXT or INI.
