About DCO files
A .DCO file is an encrypted virtual disk archive created by Safetica data protection software. It acts as a secure digital vault, storing sensitive files and folders within a mathematically scrambled container. IT administrators and individual users rely on this format for Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and secure endpoint storage.
Opening or modifying a .DCO file requires the proprietary Safetica software client. This presents significant disadvantages for users attempting to share or access the data across different systems. The format is heavily encrypted, locked primarily to the Windows ecosystem, and completely inaccessible without the correct cryptographic key or password. Standard archive extractors cannot parse the file structure, and the files often exceed several gigabytes, making them difficult to transfer or manage without the original application.
To ensure cross-platform compatibility and easier sharing, users often need to extract the contents from the .DCO vault and convert them into standard archive formats like ZIP or 7Z, or package them as standard ISO disk images.
Because .DCO is a closed, proprietary, and heavily encrypted format, standard online converters fail to process it. Only the original software can properly authenticate the user, decrypt the payload, and export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your DCO file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert DCO file to BASE64, HEX, BIN, ENC, CRYPT, AES, DES, RSA, PGP, GPG, ASC or KEY, you can use Safetica or similar software from the "Encrypted Virtual Disk Archive" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert CER, BIN, PEM, DER, KEY, P7S, PFX, ENC, P12, BASE64, P7B or HEX files to DCO, try Safetica or another comparable tool in the "Encrypted Virtual Disk Archive" category.
The DCO Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our DCO converter.
