About DC files

The .DC file extension is shared by two primary, distinct ecosystems, creating frequent confusion for users. The most common technical use is as a DesignCAD Drawing, created by IMSI DesignCAD. These files store 2D or 3D vector geometry for architectural and engineering designs. While efficient for storage, .DC files are highly proprietary. They cannot be opened natively by industry-standard tools like AutoCAD or standard web browsers, forcing users to convert them to DXF or DWG for collaboration, or PDF for client viewing.

Alternatively, a .DC file may be a DameWare Remote Control Host List, used by SolarWinds DameWare. These files contain lists of IP addresses and computer names for IT administration. Users frequently need to extract this data into CSV or TXT formats to migrate to modern remote management tools or for auditing purposes. Less commonly, .DC files act as Trimble Survey Controller data logs, storing field measurements that require conversion to CSV or XML for import into GIS software.

Convert.Guru analyzes your DC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted DC000000, DCD, ACDC, DS_STORE, DOC, PDF, DWG, DOCX, JPG, ASPX and AC files.
