A .cwa file is a raw, high-performance binary log generated by Axivity wearable sensors, specifically the AX3 and AX6 models. These files capture high-frequency triaxial accelerometer data (X, Y, Z coordinates), along with light and temperature readings, often used in clinical trials and sleep studies.
Users typically need to convert .cwa files because they are proprietary binary 'blobs' that cannot be opened in standard spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel. While the binary format is efficient for battery life and storage (logging data at 100Hz for weeks), it is completely unreadable to humans without processing.
