A .csn file is most frequently an Adobe Code Snippet, a structured XML file used by Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Animate to store reusable blocks of code (HTML, JavaScript, or ActionScript). These files allow developers to drag and drop frequent code segments into their projects. However, because they are intended for internal use within the Adobe Creative Cloud ecosystem, they do not open natively in standard text editors or web browsers on a double-click. A secondary, less common use of the format is as a Cisco SocialMiner notification message file, used in contact center environments to log chat feeds or system alerts. In rare cases, users may encounter this extension as an attachment within Apple Notes or Apple Messages exports.
