About CSA files

The .CSA file extension represents several distinctly different proprietary formats. Most commonly, it is an Agilent PNA Network Analyzer State file, which stores equipment calibration data, instrument settings, and measurement setups encoded in UTF-16 (LE). Alternatively, it operates as a CLEO Custom Script used to create mods for Grand Theft Auto games. Other less common uses include game asset archives for the Croteam Serious Engine or Star Stable Online, and text-based game records standardized by the Computer Shogi Association.

Agilent files are natively opened with the Agilent PNA Network Analyzer hardware or offline viewing software. CLEO scripts require the CLEO Library to run within GTA, and Shogi files rely on dedicated board game viewers like ShogiGUI.

The main disadvantage of .CSA files is their highly specialized, proprietary nature. Agilent state files lock your measurement data into a format that is incredibly difficult to share with colleagues who do not own the exact same hardware model. Similarly, CLEO scripts are usually compiled binaries, meaning users cannot easily read, modify, or troubleshoot the underlying code without using a specialized decompiler.

Ideally, users want to convert Agilent .CSA files to CSV or TXT to perform raw data analysis in standard spreadsheet software. For CLEO scripts, the target format is usually plain text or CS source code files for editing. Shogi game records are sometimes converted to KIF format for broader compatibility with different Japanese chess software.

Because this file format is heavily fragmented and difficult to open or convert, standard online converters almost always fail to process it. Often, only the original hardware or specialized software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your CSA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted CLEO, SCA, CS, TXT, CSV, JPG, PDF, MPH, FMF and ECG files.

The CSA Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our CSA converter.
