About CP1 files
A .cp1 file typically functions as a DMX lighting fixture profile for Nicolaudie Group Sunlite software or Eurolite hardware. It defines how a specific lighting fixture maps its channels (like pan, tilt, color, and dimmer) to the DMX512 protocol. Alternatively, the .cp1 extension is used as an inverter parameter copy file for Mitsubishi Electric FR series drives and PLCs. You can open and manage these stage lighting profiles using Sunlite Suite. If the file is a backup for industrial drives, it requires Mitsubishi FR Configurator2. These files represent a significant challenge for average users because they are highly proprietary, closed-system configuration formats. They are strictly designed for specific hardware controllers. You cannot view their internal parameters, tables, or settings natively on Windows, macOS, or standard web browsers without installing the specialized vendor software. Since these are hardware configurations, converting a .cp1 file to standard document formats like PDF or text formats like TXT is usually only possible by exporting the data directly from the original software. Users often want to convert them to XML or CSV to read the parameter tables, but standard online converters will fail and corrupt the hardware mapping. This file format is exceptionally difficult to open or convert online because it contains proprietary binary or encoded strings. Usually, only the original stage controller or industrial PLC software can properly read or export the data. However, just drag and drop your file into convert.guru to identify the format. We will inspect the file and show any readable text or internal content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded text format, viewing or extracting the raw settings may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your CP1 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The CP1 Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our CP1 converter.
