A .CHP file typically functions as a proprietary data container, most commonly used as a Satellite Receiver Channel List for ALI Corp STB chipsets or as biological data in an Affymetrix GeneChip expression analysis file. Because the extension is highly fragmented, it is also used for legacy Ventura Publisher chapters, Cisco Configuration Professional profiles, Lantek Expert CAD/CAM sheet metal parts, and even Twitch chat history logs generated by the Chatty client.
