About CDMM files

A .CDMM file is a proprietary mind map document created by ConceptDraw MINDMAP, a commercial visualization software developed by CS Odessa. These files store hierarchical brainstorming sessions, project plans, meeting notes, and visual diagrams. They can contain text nodes, vector shapes, task data, hyperlinks, and embedded attachments. Sharing .CDMM files is highly problematic because the format is closed. Users without a paid ConceptDraw license cannot open, view, or edit these files natively. Web browsers, standard document viewers, and mobile operating systems do not support the .CDMM extension. This creates a hard lock-in, forcing collaborators to either purchase the software or request the author to export the file into a universally readable format. To make the content accessible, you should convert .CDMM to PDF or standard image formats like PNG and JPG. For data portability between different mind mapping applications, converting to OPML (Outline Processor Markup Language), MM (FreeMind), or DOCX is ideal. Be aware that converting to an image or PDF will freeze the diagram, losing the interactive expand and collapse functionality of the original mind map. Because .CDMM is a closed, proprietary format, standard online converters usually fail to process it. Often, only the original ConceptDraw software can properly read or export the complex node structures and vector shapes.
