Convert a file to CCX
To convert other file formats to the "Creative Cloud Extension" file type, you need software like Adobe Creative Cloud or a similar tool.
About CCX files
A .CCX file is most frequently an installer package for Adobe Creative Cloud extensions or a compressed clipart file for CorelDRAW.
1. Adobe Creative Cloud Extension (Primary): These are essentially ZIP archives containing brushes, filters, or plugins for software like Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
The Challenge: They are designed to open automatically with the Creative Cloud Desktop app. If this software is corrupted, missing, or if you simply want to inspect the code/assets inside without installing, the file appears locked.
The Solution: Because they are renamed ZIPs, you can simply rename the extension from .ccx to zip and extract the contents to access raw images, scripts, and XML data directly.
2. CorelDRAW Clipart (Secondary): Used by CorelDRAW to store vector graphics in a compressed multimedia format (often containing CDR or CMX data).
The Challenge: These files are proprietary and cannot be opened in web browsers or competitor software like Adobe Illustrator directly.
The Solution: For broad compatibility, these should be converted to PDF (for sharing), SVG (for web), or EPS (for cross-platform vector editing).
Convert.Guru analyzes your CCX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The CCX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our CCX converter.
