About BPX files

A .BPX file functions primarily as either a Bluebeam Revu User Profile or a Bystronic Bending eXchange file. In Bluebeam Revu, a .BPX file acts as a backup for a user's workspace, storing custom user interface layouts, toolbars, and display settings in a UTF-8 format. Alternatively, in industrial manufacturing, Bystronic utilizes the .BPX extension as a structured XML file to transfer sheet metal bending coordinates and machine instructions between CAD/CAM systems and press brakes.

The primary disadvantage of the .BPX format is its strict reliance on expensive, proprietary software. Without an active Bluebeam subscription or access to specialized Bystronic machinery, executing or viewing these files is impossible in their native state. Furthermore, because these files are simply structured text or XML under the hood, locking this data behind an obscure extension creates unnecessary bottlenecks when users simply need to audit workspace settings or extract manufacturing coordinates for a report.

To overcome these limitations, you should convert the file into an open data format. For simple data extraction and auditing, convert the .BPX to XML or TXT. If you need to import Bystronic manufacturing parameters into a database or spreadsheet, convert it to CSV. Drag and drop your file here to analyze and convert it - free, online, and without installing software.

The BPX Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our BPX converter.
