About BLR files

A .BLR file primarily serves as a Biacore SPR result file or raw data file generated by Cytiva's Biacore instruments, which are heavily used in scientific research. These files are evaluated using the Biacore T200 Evaluation Software. Less frequently, a .BLR file functions as a Bosch ESI[tronic] license request file used for authorizing automotive diagnostics software via a NEP Server.

The main disadvantage of the Biacore .BLR format is its highly proprietary nature. It utilizes an internal Microsoft Compound structure to store complex Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) sensorgram data. You cannot open these files natively in web browsers or standard spreadsheet applications without an expensive, specialized software license. Users usually need to convert this raw data into CSV, XLSX, or TXT to perform independent statistical analysis, plot graphs in external tools, or share results with colleagues who lack the evaluation software. When exporting to these target formats, you successfully extract the raw numerical values, but you lose the original software's proprietary analysis models and graphical overlays.

Because this is a closed, proprietary format, standard online file converters fail to process .BLR files. Usually, only the original Biacore software can properly read or export the structured data. Because the Biacore version relies on the Microsoft Compound framework, our analysis detects embedded tables and internal streams, making partial viewing or conversion possible even without the original software.

Convert.Guru analyzes your BLR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted BBF, SGY and BMG files.

FAQ

If you want to convert BLR file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use Biacore T200 or similar software from the "Surface Plasmon Resonance Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to BLR, try Biacore T200 or another comparable tool in the "Surface Plasmon Resonance Data" category.

The BLR Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our BLR converter.
