The .BHX file primarily stores Automotive ECU (Engine Control Unit) configuration data for Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) vehicles. It functions as a Binary Hex File used to flash firmware, update modules, and calibrate engine settings. A secondary, less common use is the legacy BinHex encoded format used to transfer files safely on classic Mac OS systems. These files are typically opened with proprietary JLR diagnostic tools like SDD or Pathfinder, or specialized ECU tuning software.
