About ATTR files
The .attr file extension primarily acts as a media metadata attribute file originally created by iView MediaPro or older versions of Apple iPhoto. These files function as "sidecar" files, meaning they store supplementary data such as image tags, color profiles, ratings, and catalog details without altering the original image file. Secondary uses for the .attr extension include texture attribute data files for the Presagis OpenFlight 3D modeling format, and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) design attribute files for Mentor Graphics (now Siemens EDA) PADS PCB Design Suite.
The main disadvantage of the .attr format is that it is heavily proprietary and entirely dependent on the software that generated it. An .attr file is useless on its own because it contains no actual media, 3D geometry, or schematic data - only the attributes describing them. Users often struggle with these files because they cannot be natively opened by web browsers or standard operating system tools.
Converting an .attr file into a standard format like PDF or JPG is generally impossible because the file lacks visual data. Standard online converters fail to process it because it is a closed, proprietary format consisting of application-specific instructions or raw binary data. However, you can extract the raw text or XML data within if you need to salvage the metadata tags. We can inspect the file and show text or internal content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded text format, viewing or extracting the data as a TXT or XML file may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ATTR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted PYD, PY, ALBM, OPP and UBM files.

The ATTR Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ATTR converter.
