About ATL files
The .atl file extension is heavily fragmented but primarily serves as an Artlantis Project File created by Artlantis, a 3D architectural visualization software by the Abvent Group. These files store 3D scene data, textures, lighting, and camera setups in an XML-based structure. Alternatively, .atl files function as SAP Data Services exports containing repository object definitions used for data migration, or even as radio network planning projects in Forsk Atoll. The main disadvantage of the .atl format is its rigid dependency on highly specialized, expensive software. Opening an Artlantis scene requires an active, paid license, and the file cannot be natively viewed in standard web browsers or operating systems. Similarly, SAP .atl exports are proprietary and useless without an SAP enterprise environment. Files can be massive, making sharing difficult. You often need to convert .atl files to collaborate with clients or engineers who lack the original software. For 3D archiving and broader CAD collaboration, convert Artlantis files to .OBJ, .SKP (SketchUp), or .DWG. If you are handling SAP data exports, convert the XML-based .atl to .XML or .CSV for easier review by data analysts. Keep in mind that converting complex 3D scenes to generic formats like .OBJ may strip out proprietary lighting and camera angle metadata.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ATL file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted ATLO, PDF, ZIP, 3DS, MAX and RCS files.

The ATL Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ATL converter.
