About ARR files
The .ARR file extension is highly fragmented and serves multiple distinct purposes depending on the software that created it. Most commonly, it acts as a game array data file for 2D game engines like Clickteam Fusion and legacy Multimedia Fusion. It is also used as a source code file for the educational Pyret programming language, a data format for CNC Simulator, a keyboard arrangement file for Korg i-Series synthesizers, and even a 3D relief model for discontinued Autodesk ArtCAM software. Because the .ARR extension is shared by entirely different applications, identifying the file's origin is your first challenge. The primary disadvantage of .ARR files is this severe lack of standardization. Clickteam array files are often proprietary binary formats that lock your game data into a specific engine, making version control and external editing nearly impossible. ArtCAM models are tied to legacy software, and even Pyret scripts, which are simple plain text, are not recognized by default text editors. To make this data usable, conversion is required. For web use and data editing, convert Clickteam .ARR arrays to CSV or JSON. For archiving or sharing Pyret code, convert to TXT or PY. If you are dealing with Affymetrix microarray datasets, convert the XML-based .ARR to standard XML or CSV for analysis.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ARR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The ARR Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ARR converter.
