About AHS files

The .AHS file extension primarily represents an Active Health System (AHS) log file generated by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) ProLiant servers via the Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) management processor. These files contain comprehensive hardware, configuration, and telemetry data used for server diagnostics and troubleshooting. A smaller percentage of .AHS files are associated with legacy Adobe Halftone Screen settings used by older versions of Adobe Photoshop.

The HPE .AHS format is a highly proprietary, compressed diagnostic package. It is not a simple plain-text log. You cannot simply open it with Notepad. It requires an active warranty and an HPE Passport account to upload to the Active Health System Viewer (AHSV) for analysis. This creates a massive bottleneck for IT administrators who just need to quickly inspect server faults offline or without an active subscription.

Users often attempt to convert .AHS files to readable TXT, CSV, or XML formats. Standard online converters fail to process it because the internal structure is essentially a closed, proprietary archive of telemetry data. Only HPE's official software can properly read or export the exact diagnostic data. Even if full conversion is blocked by proprietary encryption, our tool can safely inspect the file's binary header to confirm its integrity or extract embedded readable strings.

Convert.Guru analyzes your AHS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted ASH, JSON, ASHX, ZIP, ACT, CSF and ABR files.

The AHS Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our AHS converter.
