About ACC files
An .ACC file most commonly functions as an Accounting Data Backup archive used by financial software like Sage 50 and AccountEdge. These files securely bundle a company's ledgers, transactions, and employee records into a single compressed package. However, the .ACC extension is highly fragmented and is also frequently used for TikTok mobile video/audio caches, Grand Theft Auto V player profiles, and even legacy Microsoft Access database files.
The primary disadvantage of an .ACC accounting file is its proprietary nature. If you receive an accountant's backup but lack a costly, active subscription to the exact software version that generated it, the data is completely inaccessible. Similarly, TikTok .ACC cache files are fragmented, undocumented, and cannot be opened directly by standard media players.
Fortunately, most .ACC accounting backups are just renamed ZIP archives under the hood. You can extract them to reveal raw data files, which should then be converted to standard CSV or XLSX formats for spreadsheet analysis, or PDF for permanent archiving. For TikTok media caches (which use an MP4 container structure), converting the file to a standard MP4 video or MP3 audio file restores playback capability. Drag and drop your file here to analyze and convert it - free, online, and without installing software.

The ACC Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ACC converter.
