Convert 1A0 to another file type
To convert 1A0 firmware files to another format, you need MSI M-Flash or other System software.
Convert a file to 1A0
To convert other file formats to the "BIOS Firmware Image" file type, you need software like MSI M-Flash or a similar tool.
About 1A0 files
The .1A0 file extension is primarily a Motherboard BIOS Update file associated with hardware from Micro-Star International (MSI). In the MSI ecosystem, the extension serves as a hexadecimal version number, meaning .1A0 typically represents BIOS version 1.10. Another variation of this format is the Intel Management Engine Firmware package, handled by the Intel Firmware Update Utility. In legacy enterprise environments, a .1A0 file can also represent an IMS Database Image Copy created by the IBM Information Management System for raw track-level backups.
Because these files contain compiled machine code or proprietary database structures, they possess strict usability limits. The core disadvantage of a .1A0 file is that it cannot be opened by standard operating systems or edited by users. MSI motherboard files must be flashed via the built-in UEFI M-Flash tool. IBM database copies require specific disaster recovery utilities like DFSUDMP0.
Users frequently attempt to convert .1A0 files into standard BIN or ROM formats. Because there is no standard filesystem inside, conversion is impossible and highly dangerous. Attempting to convert or rename this file will corrupt its binary signature. Flashing a modified file will result in a permanently bricked motherboard. There are no safe target formats for a compiled ROM image.
Standard online converters fail to process these files because they map data to document formats instead of recognizing raw binary constraints. Just drag and drop your file to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible. convert.guru will safely inspect the hexadecimal headers of your .1A0 file to confirm whether it is an MSI BIOS, an Intel ME firmware image, or an IBM database backup, giving you the necessary insight before you attempt a risky hardware flash.
Convert.Guru analyzes your 1A0 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert 1A0 file to TMP, TEMP, CACHE, LOG, BAK, OLD, NEW, PART, DOWNLOAD, CRDOWNLOAD, LOCK or PID, you can use MSI M-Flash or similar software from the "Motherboard BIOS Firmware Update" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DEVICE, CACHE, SOCK, SYMLINK, PID, MOUNT, FIFO, LOG, PIPE, TMP, JUNCTION or TEMP files to 1A0, try MSI M-Flash or another comparable tool in the "Motherboard BIOS Firmware Update" category.
The 1A0 Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our 1A0 converter.
