About 007 files

A .007 file is typically the seventh volume of a multi-volume split archive created by compression tools like 7-Zip. In Germany, the extension is also heavily used for electronic tax return documents generated by the ELSTER software, which internally relies on a modified TIFF image structure. Lastly, it functions as a proprietary game asset in the James Bond 007: Nightfire game.

Users struggle with .007 files because standard operating systems do not natively recognize them. A split archive piece is completely useless on its own; it requires the entire sequence (001, 002, etc.) to successfully extract the compressed contents. The ELSTER tax files are strictly proprietary, locking users into specialized government software just to view their own financial records. Nightfire game files are locked inside closed environments.

Converting a .007 split archive directly is impossible without the other volumes. Once extracted, you can access the standard PDF, JPG, or DOCX files inside. For ELSTER files, renaming the extension to TIFF or converting to a standard PDF is highly recommended for long-term document archiving. Game asset files are locked inside closed systems, making conversion to standard 3D or audio formats nearly impossible without dedicated modding tools.

Because these files rely on multi-part dependencies or proprietary encoding, standard online converters fail to process them. They either lack the surrounding archive parts or cannot parse the encrypted tax data. Often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your 007 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted Z09, F_000002, 018 and 006 files.
