About ZS0 files

A .zs0 file is a ZSNES Slot 0 Saved State file. It is generated by the ZSNES Super Nintendo (SNES) emulator to freeze gameplay at an exact moment. Unlike standard in-game battery saves, a save state captures the entire simulated hardware environment, including the RAM, audio state, and CPU registers. Users often want to convert these files to migrate their progress to more accurate, modern emulators like Snes9x or bsnes, or to play on original SNES hardware using flash carts. However, the .zs0 format is a closed, proprietary memory dump. The major disadvantage of this format is that it is strictly tied to the legacy ZSNES architecture. It is completely incompatible with other emulators, and it frequently breaks between different versions of ZSNES itself. Because .zs0 files are raw emulator snapshots rather than standard data structures, standard online converters fail to process them. The most practical conversion target is an SRM (Standard Battery RAM) file, which has universal support. If our analysis detects a supported underlying structure, extracting the raw data may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your ZS0 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
