Convert a file to XNT
To convert other file formats to the "QuarkXPress XTension Module" file type, you need software like QuarkXPress or a similar tool.
About XNT files
A .XNT file is a compiled QuarkXPress XTension module. These files are used as plugins to add custom features, automated workflows, or third-party integrations to the QuarkXPress desktop publishing platform. In some secondary cases, this extension is also associated with enterprise document management systems like Xerox DocuShare. The main disadvantage of the .XNT format is its rigid, proprietary nature. These files are tightly coupled to specific versions of QuarkXPress. An extension built for an older version will likely crash or fail to load in a newer release. Furthermore, on Windows, these are structurally compiled EXE files. This means they pose a significant security risk if downloaded from untrusted sources, and they cannot be previewed natively in a web browser or standard text editor. Because an .XNT file contains executable binary machine code and not text or image data, standard online converters fail to process it. You cannot practically convert a plugin into a readable PDF or JPG document. This file format is exceptionally difficult to open or convert outside its native ecosystem. Often, only the original software can properly read, execute, or manage the data. However, convert.guru can still identify the file format, inspect the file headers, and show internal text strings or embedded resources. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or extraction may still be possible. Just drag and drop your file to see what it is and convert it if supported.
Convert.Guru analyzes your XNT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert XNT file to DLL, SO, DYLIB, BUNDLE, PLUGIN, XPI, CRX, SAFARIEXTZ, APPEX, KEXT, SYS or DRV, you can use QuarkXPress or similar software from the "QuarkXPress Plugin Add-on" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert LV2, DYLIB, VST, AAX, DRV, TDE, LADSPA, BUNDLE, AU, DLL, RTAS or SO files to XNT, try QuarkXPress or another comparable tool in the "QuarkXPress Plugin Add-on" category.
The XNT Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our XNT converter.
