Convert XMLS to another file type
To convert XMLS files to another format, you need Microsoft Excel or other Data software.
Convert a file to XMLS
To convert other file formats to the "XML Configuration File" file type, you need software like Microsoft Excel or a similar tool.
About XMLS files
The .xmls file format serves multiple disparate functions depending on the software ecosystem that generated it. Most commonly, it acts as a vehicle diagnostic configuration file used by JCB ServiceMaster software, or as an acoustic simulation venue file for L-Acoustics Soundvision. Additionally, it functions as a generic XML spreadsheet format natively handled by Microsoft Excel, a touch controller firmware parameters file for Sitronix hardware, or a lighting show fixture model for MA Lighting grandMA2 systems. The main disadvantage of .xmls files is their lack of standardization. Because multiple proprietary hardware and software ecosystems share the exact same extension, opening the file usually requires expensive, niche software. For example, a grandMA2 lighting user cannot open a Sitronix touch panel firmware file. If the file is a compressed XML archive, generic text editors will only display scrambled binary characters. Users frequently need to convert these files into more accessible formats. The best conversion targets for an XML spreadsheet are .XLSX or .CSV for data portability. For configuration files, extracting the inner data to standard .XML or .TXT is ideal for manual editing. Keep in mind that converting a proprietary 3D acoustic venue model into a generic data format will likely destroy the visual layout geometry. This format is notoriously difficult to open or convert because it heavily relies on the original software to interpret the encoded values. Often, only the native application can correctly parse or export the specific XML schema. However, convert.guru provides a realistic workaround. Just drag and drop your file to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible. If our analysis detects standard embedded XML data, you can often inspect the raw text and bypass the native software limitations.
Convert.Guru analyzes your XMLS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert XMLS file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use Microsoft Excel or similar software from the "Spreadsheet or Hardware Configuration" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to XMLS, try Microsoft Excel or another comparable tool in the "Spreadsheet or Hardware Configuration" category.
The XMLS Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our XMLS converter.
