About XLGC files

The .xlgc file is an ExpressK Database File utilized by the facility management software Prosystech ExpressK. These files serve as dedicated, closed databases to store sensitive facility information, including comprehensive lists of physical keys, door locks, user credentials, building diagrams, and equipment maintenance schedules.

Because .xlgc is a highly proprietary database format, you are forced to maintain a paid license or active installation of the original software to access your own facility records. This creates a severe vendor lock-in problem. If you need to integrate your facility data with modern ERP systems, migrate to a new management platform, or simply share a hardware inventory report with stakeholders who do not have ExpressK installed, the native file is practically useless. Furthermore, proprietary databases run a high risk of data loss if the software is discontinued or if the file becomes corrupted without a readable backup strategy.

To overcome these limits, the standard workaround is to convert the .xlgc data into universal formats like CSV, JSON, or XML. Migrating to these formats ensures your records remain readable in standard spreadsheet applications like Microsoft Excel and are easy to import into other database management systems. Note that while tabular data (like key numbers and assigned users) converts well, graphical elements such as embedded building diagrams or complex relational key-lock matrices will likely be lost.

Attempting to convert an .xlgc file with standard online converters almost always fails. The file structure is completely closed, intentionally undocumented, and relies on internal schemas built exclusively for Prosystech software. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded database format, viewing the raw records or converting the tabular data may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your XLGC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted 000, SE3 and B2 files.
