Extract text from Backup and lesson files (XBK)

The .XBK file extension is primarily used for two distinct purposes: system backup archives and interactive whiteboard resources. Most commonly, it functions as a backup file for Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Automation Servers or Building Operation servers. In the education sector, it is used as a resource bank file for Promethean Activstudio or a lesson file for SMART Notebook. It can also appear as a virtual machine backup for Citrix XenServer.
Users typically need to convert or extract .XBK files because they are highly proprietary and restrict data access. Automation Server backups are often just renamed ZIP containers holding system configurations, making them impossible to open natively without the original, expensive industrial software.
