About SV2I files
The .sv2i file is a System Information file generated by Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office (formerly known as Acronis True Image). These files are essentially formatted XML documents that capture a snapshot of your computer's hardware and software configuration at a specific point in time. They are often created alongside backup chains (TIB or TIBX) to assist with troubleshooting or performing a "Universal Restore" to dissimilar hardware.
A common source of frustration is mistaking the .sv2i file for the actual disk image or backup archive. Users frequently attempt to mount this file to recover photos or documents, only to find it contains text-based metadata rather than binary file data. Because it is a proprietary system log, standard media players or archive managers cannot open it directly.
Since the underlying architecture is XML, the most practical conversion is to TXT or XML for inspection. This allows advanced users to read system variables, driver lists, and OS version details using a standard text editor like Notepad++. For general archiving, converting the text content to PDF preserves the system snapshot in a universally readable format, though it will not function as a restore point.
Convert.Guru analyzes your SV2I file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The SV2I Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our SV2I converter.
