Extract text from backup archives (XB)

The .XB file extension is a notorious source of confusion because it is shared by three completely different ecosystems, each with unique compatibility hurdles. Most commonly (approx. 32%), it is a Game Data Archive used by Konami titles like Power Pros and early Pro Evolution Soccer games. These files are proprietary containers holding assets - audio, textures, and scripts - locked behind obscure compression algorithms (sometimes linked to CRI Middleware). Users frequently try to open these to extract game music or models, only to find that standard tools like WinRAR or 7-Zip treat them as corrupt or unreadable garbage data.
In a server administration context, an .XB file is often a Percona XtraBackup stream. Created by Percona XtraBackup, these are compressed database backups (often using the qpress algorithm) for MySQL or MariaDB. The major friction point here is that .XB files are stream archives, not standard files; they cannot be casually browsed. They require command-line manipulation with the xbstream utility to "convert" (unpack) them back into a usable database format. Finally, for mobile users, an .XB file may be a simple settings backup from XBrowser, which is secretly just a ZIP file with a changed extension.
