About WSE files

The .WSE file extension represents two distinct, proprietary formats that often confuse users due to their incompatibility with modern systems.

  1. Wise Installation Script: Originally created by Wise Solutions (later acquired by Symantec and then Flexera), this is a project script used to build Windows installers (setup.exe). These files contain English-like text instructions that define how a software installation should proceed.
  1. Wattbike Session Data: Used by Wattbike indoor cycling trainers, this file stores detailed workout telemetry (power, cadence, heart rate) on a USB stick.

Convert.Guru analyzes your WSE file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted INSTALL, MSP and CA0 files.

The WSE Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our WSE converter.
