About WPX files
The .WPX file extension represents multiple distinct, proprietary project files depending on the software that created it. Most commonly, it is a UTF-8 encoded text file used by EKO4U to store window and door order configurations. It is also used by Fom Industrie for structural projects, and by Winprogitel for electrical installations. Alternatively, in the geology sector, it functions as a Picture Log file in Advanced Logic Technology WellCAD. Because these are highly specialized data containers, users face severe disadvantages. You generally cannot open a .WPX file without the specific, expensive industry software it was built in. This creates major friction when sharing project quotes or structural logs with clients who do not own EKO4U or WellCAD. Standard web browsers completely fail to recognize this format natively. To share these files successfully, you must export them from the original software into universally readable formats like PDF, DXF, or CSV. Standard online converters fail because they cannot parse the proprietary schema or the embedded ZIP structure of the .WPX container. This is a closed, proprietary format that makes direct conversion notoriously difficult. Often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, like an archived ZIP directory or raw text strings, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
