About WNA files
A .WNA file is a specialized audio package created by the TMSOFT White Noise application. These files are designed to transport "soundscapes" - collections of ambient audio loops (such as rain, fans, or ocean waves) combined with cover art and playback settings - between devices running the White Noise app.
While .WNA files are convenient for syncing your sleep sounds, they present a significant barrier for use outside the TMSOFT ecosystem. Because the file is a proprietary container, standard media players like VLC or iTunes cannot recognize or play them. This "lock-in" is frustrating for users who want to add their favorite ambient tracks to a standard music playlist, edit the audio in software like Audacity, or simply listen on a device that doesn't support the specific app.
Functionally, a .WNA file is just a renamed ZIP archive. It typically contains a manifest file, a background image (JPG), and the actual audio source (often MP3 or WAV). For general playback, the best approach is to convert the file to a standard MP3 or WAV. For archiving or inspecting the assets, converting to ZIP allows you to unzip the package and extract the individual image and sound components without quality loss.
Convert.Guru analyzes your WNA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
