About WLB files

The .WLB file extension usually represents a Barcode Label Design created with WinLabel software (often associated with Wincode Technology or legacy Avery products). These files contain layout instructions for thermal printers, including vector graphics, barcode schema, and text fields. Because the format is proprietary to specific printer drivers, users cannot open them in standard design tools like Adobe Illustrator or Microsoft Word without the original labeling software. A secondary but significant use (approx. 6%) is as a GPS Blackbox Log generated by Teltonika Telematics tracking devices. These are binary data dumps containing vehicle telemetry (coordinates, speed, I/O status) that appear as garbled text if opened in Notepad.

For label designs, the best approach is converting to PDF or JPG for universal viewing and printing on standard office printers. For Teltonika logs, users need to parse the binary data into CSV or XLSX for analysis in Microsoft Excel, or KML for visualization in Google Earth.

Convert.Guru analyzes your WLB file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted WBL, ZWL, CLD and BAL files.

The WLB Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our WLB converter.
