About WBB files
A .WBB file is a backup archive generated by WinBackup, a legacy data protection tool developed by Uniblue Systems. These files store compressed copies of user documents, system settings, or personal folders. The .WBB format is closed and proprietary. It presents severe disadvantages today because Uniblue Systems ceased operations in 2018. This makes the original software extremely difficult to acquire and run on modern operating systems. Furthermore, .WBB files cannot be opened directly by modern web browsers, and standard archive managers like WinRAR or 7-Zip fail to read them. Users typically need to convert or extract these files into standard .ZIP or .7Z archives, or recover the underlying .DOCX, .JPG, or .PDF documents. This file format is difficult to open or convert because the internal directory structure and compression methods are unique to WinBackup. Only the original software can properly read or export the data. Standard online converters fail to process it because they lack the proprietary extraction algorithms. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or extraction may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your WBB file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The WBB Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our WBB converter.
