About VTYM files

A .vtym file is a document, image, or video that has been maliciously locked by the VTYM Ransomware, a widely known variant of the STOP/Djvu malware family. Cybercriminals use this format to hold user data hostage, typically leaving a ransom note in the affected folders. Specialized decryption software, such as the Emsisoft STOP Djvu Decryptor, is often required to attempt recovery. Users urgently need to convert these files back to their original states to rescue personal or business data. However, the .vtym format is severely disadvantaged. It is fully encrypted using AES algorithms, meaning standard software will fail to recognize the data. You cannot bypass the lock by simply renaming the file extension, and conventional conversion tools will instantly fail when trying to read the scrambled binary structure. The only viable target formats are the file's original extensions, such as JPG, DOCX, or PDF, but this is only possible if the file is successfully decrypted first. This file format is intentionally difficult to open or convert. Often, only a matching decryption key can properly read or export the data.

Convert.Guru analyzes your VTYM file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
