The .vtml file is a Visual Tool Markup Language document, developed initially by Macromedia and later managed by Adobe Systems. It was primarily used in legacy web development environments like Macromedia HomeSite, ColdFusion Studio, and older versions of Adobe Dreamweaver. Developers used these files to create custom extensions, specifically defining code hinting, tag formatting, and visual dialog boxes (Tag Editors) for writing code.
The major disadvantage of the current format is its extreme obsolescence and proprietary nature. A .vtml file requires specialized, discontinued software to execute its UI commands.
