About VSP files
A .VSP file is a project file created by Corel VideoStudio (formerly owned by Ulead). Unlike a standard video file, this format serves as a "recipe" for your video edit - it stores the timeline structure, references to source media (video clips, audio tracks, images), transition effects, and title overlays.
Because the .VSP file does not contain the actual video or audio data itself, users frequently encounter major friction points: the file is extremely small (often just a few kilobytes) compared to the video it represents, it cannot be played in standard media players like VLC Media Player, and it fails to open if the referenced source files on your computer are moved or deleted. Furthermore, sharing a .VSP file with a client or friend is useless unless they also own the specific version of Corel VideoStudio and possess all the raw assets.
To make your project viewable or shareable, you must convert the project into a self-contained video format. For web streaming and social media, converting the project to MP4 (H.264) is the industry standard. For high-quality archiving or further editing in other software, exporting to MOV or AVI is recommended.
Convert.Guru analyzes your VSP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert VSP file to MP4, AVI, MOV, WMV, FLV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, 3GP, OGV, ASF or RM, you can use Corel VideoStudio or similar software from the "Video Editing Project" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MTS, MOV, RMVB, DIVX, RM, H264, TS, WMV, VOB, MP4, XVID or AVI files to VSP, try Corel VideoStudio or another comparable tool in the "Video Editing Project" category.
The VSP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our VSP converter.
