About VITALBANK files
A .vitalbank file is a preset package designed for Vital, a popular wavetable software synthesizer created by Matt Tytel. These files bundle individual synth presets, custom WAV wavetables, noise samples, and LFO shapes into a single file for easy distribution. They are primarily used by music producers within a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) like Ableton Live or FL Studio.
The main disadvantage of the .vitalbank format is its rigid dependency on the Vital plugin. Standard media players and audio editors cannot read these files. Because they contain mathematical synthesis instructions rather than rendered audio, standard online converters will fail if you try to convert them directly to MP3 or WAV. Furthermore, managing these banks manually can be frustrating if the internal folder structure gets corrupted during a download.
The most practical workaround is to treat the file as a standard compressed archive. By renaming the extension to ZIP, you can extract the individual VITAL preset files and internal WAV wavetables. If you need actual audio playback, you must load the bank into Vital and bounce the MIDI track inside your DAW.
Convert.Guru analyzes your VITALBANK file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert VITALBANK file to INI, CFG, CONF, CONFIG, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, ENV, PROPERTIES or RC, you can use Vital or similar software from the "Synthesizer Preset Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

The VITALBANK Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our VITALBANK converter.
