About VEH files

The .VEH extension acts as a critical configuration container in two very different industries: civil engineering and motorsport simulation.

  1. Civil Engineering (AutoTURN): In the CAD world, .VEH files are generated by AutoTURN from Transoft Solutions. These files store precise vehicle geometry - wheelbase, track width, and steering limits - used for swept path analysis within host platforms like AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  1. Sim Racing (rFactor/gMotor2): In games like rFactor, GTR2, and Automobilista, the .VEH file is the "conductor" of a vehicle mod. It is a plain text file that defines the car's name, class, and references other asset files (like MAS for meshes or HDV for physics).

Convert.Guru analyzes your VEH file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted VDRI, HAT and RDT files.

The VEH Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our VEH converter.
