About VC2 files

The .VC2 file extension is highly fragmented and used by several completely unrelated software systems. Most commonly, it acts as a proprietary Voice Recording Log generated by enterprise call center software from Verint Systems. Alternatively, it may store VectorCAD 2D drawings from legacy CSI-COM CADD-PRO software, Genealogy chart data created by Daub Visual Chart (often associated with Family Tree Maker), or Photovoltaic system simulation variants built in PVsyst.

The main disadvantage of .VC2 files is severe vendor lock-in. These are proprietary, undocumented file types that cannot be opened by standard operating systems or web browsers. They often require expensive, niche, or obsolete software to access. This makes sharing .VC2 files incredibly frustrating, as the recipient usually sees an unreadable, unrecognizable file.

To make the data accessible, you must export the files from their native software. Genealogy charts and CAD drawings should be converted to PDF or JPG to preserve visual layouts, though interactive elements will be lost. PVsyst simulation files are plain UTF-8 text, meaning they can simply be converted to TXT or CSV for review.

Because .VC2 is a closed, multi-use format, standard online converters fail to process it. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. We inspect the file's internal signature. If our analysis detects a supported underlying format - like embedded UTF-8 text - viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your VC2 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted PDF, JPEG, FMF, CMBL and CLIENT files.
