A .UVF (Uncertain Value Format) file is a specialized data file used by Norsys Netica, a leading Bayesian network development software. These files store case data containing uncertain or probabilistic values used in ecology, medicine, engineering, and business analytics.
While fundamentally an extension of the ubiquitous CSV format, the .UVF extension is tied to Netica's proprietary ecosystem. This creates significant disadvantages for collaboration. Standard spreadsheet tools like Microsoft Excel will not natively recognize the .UVF extension. Users attempting to open them directly often face error messages, unreadable formatting, or an unrecognized file prompt.
