About ULS files
The .ULS file extension is a NetMeeting User Location Service File used by Microsoft NetMeeting. It contains server addresses, IP information, and directory pointers used to establish a VoIP or video call connection. Microsoft discontinued NetMeeting over two decades ago. Modern operating systems lack support for this software. The disadvantage of the .ULS format is its absolute dependence on a defunct software ecosystem. You cannot double-click and use these files today. Because they are plain text or INI-style configuration files, the best conversion target is TXT. Converting to text allows you to recover the historical connection data, though the functional VoIP aspect is lost. This file format is difficult to open or convert because standard online converters fail to recognize obsolete file types.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ULS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert ULS file to SLS, TMP, TEMP, CACHE, LOG, BAK, OLD, NEW, PART, DOWNLOAD, CRDOWNLOAD or LOCK, you can use Microsoft NetMeeting or similar software from the "VoIP Server Connection Shortcut" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DEVICE, CACHE, SOCK, SYMLINK, PID, MOUNT, FIFO, LOG, PIPE, TMP, JUNCTION or TEMP files to ULS, try Microsoft NetMeeting or another comparable tool in the "VoIP Server Connection Shortcut" category.
The ULS Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ULS converter.
